A strong warning to PS4 players across the globe. There is a glitch that spreads through the messages app and it bricks your console.
PS4 users are getting a weird message that triggers a glitch which bricks the console. According to a number of users on Reddit, this glitch appeared recently and works through the messaging app.
Players receive a message which in some cases does not even have to be opened for the glitch to trigger. One player saw his entire team crash while playing Rainbow Six Siege. A player from the other team sent them the message, crashing the entire team expect one member. The player who wasn’t affected by this had his messages set to private.
A different player also reported this glitch while playing Rocket League. The message appeared on the notification bar and that’s all it took to crash his system. Sony is yet to comment on the issue and so far the problem seems to be isolated to a small number of players. Before it spreads any further, action must be taken,
For the time being it is best to protect your PS4 by setting your messages to private. Once the issue is resolved you can change your privacy settings back to normal.
