Red Dead Redemption 2 Weapon Maintenance Guide to help you learn all about cleaning and repairing your weapons in order to increase their damage in RDR2.
Red Dead Redemption 2 consists of a big world full of enemies and to fight them, you’ll need to maintain your weapons. And this Red Dead Redemption 2 Weapon Maintenance Guide will help you learn about cleaning and repairing your weapons in the game.
If you don’t, your favorite weapon will slowly deal lesser damage, reload times will increase, and the firing rate of the weapon also decreases.
To avoid lesser damage, increased load time and decreasing fire rate, you can clean and repair your weapon. It’s not very complicated as all you need is a Gun Oil.
The only problem you’ll face is in finding it but don’t worry we have you all covered in this guide.
Once you have the Gun Oil, it’s very easy to clean or repair your weapon. Just open up your Weapon Wheel and select the desired weapon to unveil its stats. These stats will represent the current condition of your weapon.
Now press R3 on the weapon which needs maintenance. This will inspect your gun and then you will just have to press X on Xbox or square on PS4 to start cleaning it with the gun oil.
There’s no specific location or a shop required to do this repairing. Just do it when you feel your weapon is not performing well anymore but obviously with gun oil stacked in your inventory. Each clean will result in 1x gun oil being consumed.
Gun Oil can be found from various “Gunsmiths across the Wild West”. Major towns will have these in stock most of the times so you had better head towards a big town rather than a small one to guarantee yourself a can of Gun Oil.
Now once you are at a gunsmith, just hover to the Accessories Tab and it’s going to cost you $1.50. Now after playing it, we think that you will definitely find it in the gunsmith store at the Valentine town in the Wild West.
You will counter slower weapon performance over time but that’s not all as the environmental factors including rust and dust will also affect your weapon. Just keep inspecting your weapon to avoid low performance.
Now that’s all you need to know when it comes to cleaning and repairing your weapon in RDR2. Make sure to have extra Gun Oil cans with you to avoid being taken out by enemies in gunfights.
