Camila Cabello took a page out of her fellow pop star Ariana Grande’s style playbook at Sunday’s MTV EMAs, pulling her long hair back into a high ponytail — and paying the painful price.

“I just did a high ponytail for the first time and it is literally pulling on my BRAIN ITS SO PAINFUL HOW DO YOU DO IT @ArianaGrande,” the “Havana” hitmaker, 21, tweeted from the red carpet.
Grande, who’s made the scraped-back hairstyle her signature, pointed out that it helps to have extensions. “Well u actually have hair so that prolly makes it a lil more painful,” the songstress explained, adding, “nah jk i’m in constant pain always and don’t care at all.”
Cabello clearly couldn’t put up with the pain, however, choosing to let her hair down mid-show. “I had to take it off #thankunext,” she tweeted, nodding to Grande’s new single. “I’m literally never doing that hairstyle again,” she added .
“Awwww so happy for u, u still feel things,” Grande replied .
Cabello, who scooped up the awards for best song, best video, best artist and best act at the EMAs, later shared playful before-and-after shots on social media that further illustrated her distaste for the headache-inducing ‘do.
