We have the scoop for Destiny 2 players on where to find Xur, what exotic items he has for sale on November 16, and whether any are worth spending Legendary Shards.
It’s Friday which means Destiny’s longstanding exotic merchant, Xur, has finally returned for his temporary visit. By now, Destiny 2 players should be well aware that his weekend appearance has turned into a treasure hunt of sorts since his location and map icon have gone missing from the Director. While continuing to seel year one exotic gear, the merchandise has since been updated to include customized perks, which makes them slightly more interesting at the very least.
After the reappearance of the heavy machine gun, Thunderlord, big things are on the way for Destiny 2 exotic gear as Bungie also announced that The Black Armory update is scheduled to arrive on December 4. If rumors are true, a new influx of gear is scheduled to arrive potentially including some classic favorites like The Last Word and Icebreaker. Perhaps at this point, Bungie will reprogram Xur to start selling some more Year 2 exotics every now and again as well.
For now though, here’s everything Xur is selling in Destiny 2 for the weekend of November 16,2018:
This week, Xur can be found on Titan in a little building on The Rig.
After fast traveling there, run towards the other side of the zone, towards the Solarium. Before heading down the ramp towards the path leading there, Xur can be found hiding in a little shack off of the open space where Hive and Fallen typically battle one another.
For class armor, Xur has brought with him two vanilla exotics and a disappointing one from the Curse of Osiris expansion.
The Aeon Cult gear set has been featured over the past couple of weeks, though the end result remains the same: there are better exotics available and this isn’t something that players should rush out to pick up unless attempting to collect every exotic item in the game.
Aeon Soul is an item that works best when other fireteam members are also wearing Aeon gear, which likely won’t be the case these days. Its exotic perk is Aeon Energy which grants added grenade energy to Warlocks, barricade energy to Titans, and dodge energy to Hunters when the user throws a grenade. For teammates that don’t have Aeon gear, they’ll only receive a small energy boost.
The Knucklehead Radar is a solid exotic helm with a strong and passive perk. Upgraded Sensor Pack keeps the radar active while aiming down the sights of a gun and enhances the radar when crouched. Considering sniping is viable in the Crucible, having the radar on while lining up shots is always a great bonus to have.
It’s not the best or most flashy exotic in the Hunter’s toolbox, but it’s definitely worth owning.
A very popular exotic that many players will want to pick up for those that don’t already have one. This Daft Punk looking Titan helmet features the Transfusion Matrix perk, which triggers health regeneration and restores melee energy after an arc melee kill. With the added boost to Shoulder Charge a couple months ago, this item became even stronger and can give the user nearly unlimited melee attacks under the right conditions. It’s a wonderful PvE item and equally as strong in PvP for Earthshaker or Missle Striker Titans.
The item, combined with the strong roll of perks, is definitely worth spending Legendary Shards on this week. Prepare to see this item quite a bit in the Crucible this weekend.
Originally a pre-order bonus for Destiny 2, the Coldheart exotic trace rifle is a fun weapon to use. Similar to the Prometheus Lens and Wavesplitter, the Coldheart fires off a steady blue laser beam thanks to its exotic perk, Cold Fusion. The longer the beam stays on a target, the more damage it does to the enemy.
With a steady aim, this is a great way to melt bosses on the PvE side of the game. it’s viable in the Crucible, though with how fast-paced matches can get and with targets that don’t stand very still, it can be a tough weapon to use in PvP. Still, it’s worth owning for those that don’t yet have it.
