The accident occurred just after 7 a.m. on Baker Street at Red Hill Avenue.
Costa Mesa police were investigating the circumstances of an accident that left a motorcyclist dead Saturday morning, Nov. 17, authorities said.
Just after 7 a.m., Costa Mesa officers responded to Baker Street at Red Hill Avenue in regards to a crash between a vehicle and a motorcycle, police said.
The motorcyclist, a man, died of his injuries, police said. It wasn’t immediately clear if he was pronounced dead at the scene or if he was transported to a hospital.
The Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team was on scene to investigate the circumstances of the collision and southbound Red Hill Avenue was closed at Baker Street, police said.
No further information about the motorcyclist was immediately available. The driver of the vehicle was transported to a hospital with minor injuries, police said.
