Samsung has finally pulled the wraps from Android Go-powered Galaxy J4 Core. The latest from the South Korean brand arrives with a 6-inch HD+ display and comes with features like Optimised Data Control and Ultra Data Saving. The brand’s Galaxy J2 Core ( first impressions) was an entry-level offering, so Samsung has tried to fix some of its shortcomings with its new offering. So in this article, let’s take a closer look at both the devices and see how they differ.
The Samsung Galaxy J4 Core comes equipped with a 6-inch TFT display as opposed to the 5-inch panel on the J2 Core. That apart, the screen on the J4 Core offers a better resolution of 1,480 x 720 pixels in comparison to its sibling with a resolution of 540 x 960 pixels.
Samsung has doubled up the internal storage on the Galaxy J4 Core. The new smartphone comes with 16GB of internal storage as opposed to the 8GB memory on the J2 Core.
There have been some changes on the battery front as well, the J4 Core is backed by a respectable 3,300mAh battery as opposed to the 2,600 mAh battery on the Galaxy J2 Core.
In terms of specs, both smartphones come powered by the Exynos 7570 processor and feature 1GB of RAM. While a gigabyte of RAM seems to be a letdown, the fact that the phones ship with Android Go should ensure smooth performance. Speaking of which, both handsets ship with Android 8.1 Oreo (Go Edition) and will likely receive an upgrade to Android Pie.
Camera-wise, the Galaxy J2 Core and the J4 Core feature 8-megapixel cameras at the rear and 5-megapixel sensors on the front. Both phones also come with an LED flash unit for selfies.
Both the Samsung Galaxy J4 Core and J2 Core offer support for 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11, Bluetooth v4.2 and GPS.
