Several Xiaomi smartphones will not be getting the latest MIUI 10 updates. Xiaomi has even officially notified the Redmi and Mi Series variants that will soon stop receiving updates.
Xiaomi developers have openly confirmed that quite a few smartphones, including some Redmi and Mi Series devices, will not get MIUI updates, including the latest MIUI 10 OS. Developers of the MIUI OS and its updates put up the notice in a forum post on the MIUI China website. Incidentally, the notice appears to be limited to the Xiaomi smartphones that sell primarily in China. However, it is quite likely that the Xiaomi handsets sold elsewhere will stop receiving the updates as well.
Not all Xiaomi smartphone users need to worry about their devices being left out of the update cycle. Xiaomi has clearly mentioned the devices that won’t be receiving updates, and most of the smartphones are quite old.
