HMD Global Oy is slated to launch a new line of Nokia phone series early December in Dubai.
It’s already a day past mid-November and just as we thought the technology companies are done with product launches for the year 2018, HMD Global Oy has released a teaser of the upcoming phone and plans to unveil it in December.
The Finnish company is probably trying to cash in on the Christmas festive holiday season and has announced the unveiling of a new Nokia phone on December 5 in Dubai. In the teaser image, Juho Sarvikas, chief product officer, HMD Global Oy, has shown three phones, most probably of the same model. The middle mobile seems to have a notch on top.
If the comments in the Sarvikas‘ Twitter post thread are to believed, the mysterious phone might be the Nokia X7, which is already available in China. Many believe that the company, like previous release pattern, might rebrand the device, most probably the Nokia 8.1.
Already several benchmark scores and also on certification documents including Google ARCore support list with the aforementioned name have been made online.

It also boasts feature-rich dual-camera module having 12MP and 13MP sensors on the back, and a feature-rich 20MP front snapper for the selfies and video chatting.
Other stipulated features include Bluetooth 5.0, Type C USB port, FM Radio, 4G VoLTE support and more.
It is likely to come with Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box but will get Google ’s latest Android Pie soon after the launch. Since it is an Android One phone, Nokia 8.1 is certain to get Android Q in 2019 and also Android R in the following year.
