“Vice” director Adam McKay is a fan of many of the films among this year’s Golden Globes nominees, but he has embraced Dick Cheney’s ruthlessly competitive spirit when it came to a movie that his is up against: “Mary Poppins Returns.”
“We’re coming for it. We’re gonna take it down. Cheney is going to take Poppins down. That’s a promise. I’ll fight dirty. I’ll get in the press. I’ll spread rumors. Usually, with awards, it’s, ‘Hey, it’s good for everyone! It’s all art!’ Not in this case,” McKay jokingly told TheWrap. “We ain’t no musical. We ain’t singing no songs.
