Conservative columnist Michelle Malkin told Fox News on Wednesday that President Trump caved on border wall funding to avoid a government shutdown, joining several other conservative media pundits in criticizing the president over negotiations.
„Well, I’m not going to sugarcoat it. I’m not going to spin it. I wish I could but I can’t. This is a cave. This was a blink,“ Malkin told „Fox and Friends.“
„Fox & Friends“ co-host Steve Doocy had suggested House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N. Y.) „won“ after the White House on Tuesday said it was taking border wall funding off the negotiating table with Democrats.
„We have to hold the Republicans [accountable], particularly [Senate Majority Leader] Mitch McConnell, who has been in office since 1984 and has never been able to get this deal done because he is afraid of a shutdown,“ Malkin added.
