Dec. 17 (UPI) — North Korea may have ambitions to transform a coastal area in its eastern Kangwon Province into the „next Singapore,“ but the regime needs about $7.8 billion to make Kim Jong Un ’s vision a reality, according to a South Korean press report.
A 158-page North Korean document from 2016 obtained by Shin Dong-A, an influential monthly newsmagazine, shows North Korea sought foreign investment for a new city to be built in the Wonsan-Kalma coastal area.
The booklet includes an introduction to the Wonsan-Mount Kumgang International Tourism Zone, a section on investment targets and details on regulations for foreign investors.
