Here’s how to enjoy yourself at this annual festival at the Disneyland Resort.
This year’s Lunar New Year celebration has kicked off at Disney California Adventure, and it’s a colorful and tasty experience that will run daily through Feb. 17.
Here are 9 things you’re going to want to do while you’re there:
1. See Mulan’s Lunar New Year Procession
This year, the lively event has a longer route and adds the Disney version of the Three Little Pigs in honor of the Year of the Pig. The route runs from Pixar Pier to Paradise Gardens Park with fan ribbon and martial arts dancers included in the festivities. (Note: It’s called a procession because there aren’t any floats involved, which would have made it a parade.) It runs daily at noon, 1:15 p.m., 3 p.m. and 4:15 p.m.
2. Eat
Due to growing demand, the specialty food-and-beverage booths have increased from three to four. The marketplaces include Longevity Noodle Co., Lucky 8 Lantern, Prosperity Bao & Buns and Red Dragon Spice Traders and they will stay up until after the annual Food and Wine Festival, which starts in March. Among the offerings: Crispy shrimp fried rice ($8), Vietnamese iced coffee ($5.50), vegetable egg roll and chilled sesame garlic noodles ($7), Mickey Chinese hot dog bun ($6.
