Stocks in Japan set to gain as investors await developments in US-China trade talks

A Chinese delegation led by Vice Premier Liu He is set to arrive in Washington this week for high-level trade talks with the U. S.
Futures pointed to a higher open for Japan’s Nikkei 225 on Monday as investors awaited the start of a new round of high level U. S.-China trade talks set to begin later this week.
The Nikkei futures contract in Chicago was at 20,815 while its counterpart in Osaka was at 20,790. The benchmark Japanese index last closed at 20,773.56.
Australia’s stock markets are closed for a public holiday.
China is set to send a delegation led by Vice Premier Liu He to Washington for a fresh round of high level trade talks later this week.
