A Saudi man was arrested after he stabbed a guard at the French Consulate in Jeddah — one of three attacks Thursday against France, which has come under fire over satirical cartoons of the Prophet Mohammed. The guard suffered “minor injuries” and “legal action” was being taken against the attacker, according to Reuters, which cited a statement from the Mecca region’s police. “The French Embassy strongly condemns this attack against a diplomatic outpost which nothing could justify,” the diplomatic office in Riyadh said in a statement.
