Tyson launches investigation over claims of COVID-19 betting pool among Waterloo managers

A lawsuit alleges that managers and supervisors at the plant bet on how many workers would get COVID-19. More than 1,000 tested positive.
Tyson Foods suspended managers of its Waterloo pork processing plant Thursday after allegations surfaced that they had bet on how many employees on its meatpacking line would contract coronavirus. „We expect every team member at Tyson Foods to operate with the utmost integrity and care in everything we do,“ President and CEO Dean Banks said in a statement. „If these claims are confirmed, we’ll take all measures necessary to root out and remove this disturbing behavior from our company.“ Tyson also announced that it has tapped former U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder to lead an investigation into activity at the plant.
