Former President Donald Trump has said more than once that he wants to run for the presidency again after losing the 2020 election, an ex-adviser said. “Donald Trump is the head of the Republican Party still, let’s make no mistake about that. He’s still the most popular politician. And he’s going to decide what he wants to do,” former U.S. Ambassador to Germany Ric Grenell said on Newsmax over the weekend. “He’s told me personally, multiple times, that he does want to run again. So we’ll see if that holds and how that comes about; I think we’ve got a long ways to go,” Grenell added. Almost immediately after the election ended, speculation about Trump running in 2024 started. Polls show Trump remains popular among Republican voters, which is one reason he shouldn’t try to start a new party, Grenell argued.
