A certification listing for a possible Galaxy S20 FE 5G device for the Indian market hints at a new Snapdragon 865 model – a change from the current Exynos 990 model – being readied for launch.
Samsung might be readying a version of the Galaxy S20 FE powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865 for the Indian market. Unlike the version for the U.S., the device launched in India in October last year with an Exynos 990 SoC, which also did not ship with support for 5G. Now, a listing for a Samsung device bearing model number SM-G781B has passed through the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). The model number on the listing and a product information page for the said model differs from the current device sold in the Indian market bearing model number SM-G780, providing credence to the theory that the model is a new version for the market – and in line with the 5G variant of the device sold across the globe.
