More than 40% of prisoners and employees for the state’s prison system have gotten the first round of vaccinations for COVID-19, California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation officials said Monday, March 1. As of Sunday, about 43% of the 94,644 in-custody population and about 42% of 61,408 employees have received the first round of COVID-19 vaccines, the CDCR said in an email.
