Sen. Tammy Duckworth (D-Ill.), who was nearly selected as President Joe Biden’s vice presidential pick last year, said Sunday she would consider running for president herself down the line if it would be “ good for the country.” Duckworth has made a name for herself for being outspoken since she was elected to the Senate in 2017. Last week, Duckworth and fellow Democratic senator Mazie Hirono (D-Hawaii) said they would vote against all of Biden’s cabinet nominees who are not a person of color or a member of the LGBTQ community until an Asian-American was nominated.
