June 24 (UPI) — The Pittsburgh Steelers released six-time Pro Bowl offensive lineman David DeCastro after nine seasons, the team announced Thursday. DeCastro was released with a non- football injury designation, according to the team. He was entering the final year of his contract, which carried a $14.2 million salary-cap hit in 2021. The Steelers saved $8.75 million in cap space by parting ways with him. The 31-year-old DeCastro wasn’t a participant in minicamp recently, and the Steelers also visited with Pro Bowl guard Trai Turner last week.
