If you’re in the market for a laptop or gaming PC, Independence Day could be an excellent time to browse HP’s 4th of July Sale while you’re waiting for the barbecue to heat up. Discounts are live now and will be going through July 10, but HP has got some decent „doorbuster“ deals going on over the weekend and beyond, or while supplies last. Use code HP21J4TH to get an extra 5% off $599+ purchases. When you use the code DTSMB15, you will receive an extra 15% off business desktops and workstations! Also, get an extra 10% off on configurable HP business PCs when you use the code SMB10. We’ve combed through the deals and found several of the best selections that might narrow down your search, so you don’t burn your ribs. Check them out… If you haven’t jumped into VR yet, now might be a good time. The HP Reverb G2 VR Headset usually sells for $600 and is among the best there is. This weekend HP is marking it down $100, which is an okay price to opt-in to VR if you already have a capable PC. However, you’re going to want to wait until Thursday for this one because HP plans to do a flash sale slashing the price tag another $100 and bringing your cost down to just $400. That’s the same price as Facebook’s top-end Oculus Quest 2. Of course, you’ll be tethered to your PC, but if that’s not a problem, the Reverb should deliver better graphical fidelity than the Quest 2 or other wireless variants. The Reverb comes bundled with two motion controllers, a 6-meter PC cable, a DisplayPort to mini-DisplayPort adapter, USB-C to A adapter, and a power cord. Be sure to check the specs sheet to ensure your PC meets the minimum system requirements before you lay down the cash. As long as we’re talking about gaming, HP has its entry-level 17-inch Omen gaming laptop discounted starting at $900. The last time HP ran a sale on this computer, it was marked down to $1,000. So it’s an even better price point to break into laptop gaming. The casual gamer (base) configuration comes with a Core i5-10300H and GTX 1660 Ti 6GB. It also has 8GB RAM, configurable to 32GB. Storage is somewhat lacking, sporting only a 256GB SSD, but that too can be upgraded all the way up to 1TB if you wish to pay a little more.
