National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases head Dr. Anthony Fauci predicted Sunday on ABC’s “This Week” that things were “going to get worse” as the Delta variant pushes a surge of COVID-19 cases in the United States. Anchor Jon Karl said, “Help me understand. Are we headed towards a period once again where we’re going to see lockdowns, businesses shutting down, masks routine for everybody, or is this — or is this potentially just a temporary setback?” Fauci said, Jon, I don’t think we’re going to see lockdowns.
