The Utah senator took to Twitter Sunday to congratulate the former University of Utah gymnast.
On Sunday after former University of Utah gymnast MyKayla Skinner won the silver medal in the vault individual finals at the Tokyo Olympics, she received congratulations from a very notable figure, both nationally and in the Utah Olympics scene. Just before noon Mountain Time, Utah Republican Sen. Mitt Romney, who was the president and CEO of the Salt Lake Organizing Committee that was in charge of the 2002 Winter Olympics in Utah, congratulated Skinner on Twitter. Related Quoting a tweet from Team USA that featured a video of Skinner talking about her medal, Romney wrote, “Congratulations to former @UtahGymnastics athlete @mykaylaskinner! Your incredible story proves that determination and grit pays off in the end.
