The coming-of-age drama stars Jamie Dornan and Caitriona Balfe
Filmmaker Kenneth Branagh is back in the awards race with his new drama “Belfast,” and the film is finally coming to audiences. Based partly on his experience as a child growing up in Northern Ireland, “Belfast” has been making the film festival circuit rounds over the last few months, picking up critical raves and awards left and right. It earned the coveted Peoples’ Choice Award at the Toronto International Film Festival, which traditionally is a signifier of at least a Best Picture Oscar nomination.
