Dershowitz says he has nothing to hide, no reason for a BBC apology
The BBC issued an apology Thursday after having lawyer Alan Dershowitz on air to speak about the Ghislaine Maxwell verdict, considering his connection to people involved in the case, including the defendant and her former partner, sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. “The interview with Alan Dershowitz after the Ghislaine Maxwell verdict did not meet the BBC’s editorial standards, as Mr Dershowitz was not a suitable person to interview as an impartial analyst, and we did not make the relevant background clear to our audience,” the BBC said in a statement. “We will look into how this happened.” Vocal Epstein survivor Virginia Giuffre, who did not testify at Maxwell’s trial, claimed that as a teenager, she’d been sex trafficked to several prominent figures, including Dershowitz. The former Harvard professor, who worked as Epstein’s lawyer, denies that claim.
