Fans of George R. Martin’s Game of Thrones series have only five months to wait to dive back into that world. Warner Media today confirmed that the House of the Dragon House of the Dragon prequel series, set 200 years prior to the events of Game of Thrones, debuts on Aug.21 on HBO and HBO Max. The 10-episode House of the Dragon is based on a single, two-volume book from Martin, so it stands to reason that the series will be shorter than the eight-season run of Game of Thrones, which drew on a more extended set of books.
