Google’s annual conference for developers, Google I/O, is set for Wednesday, May 11, and we’re expecting to hear about the search giant’s first smartwatch, among other announcements like the Pixel 6A and Android 13. Even though the company owns Fitbit and makes software for Android-powered wearables from companies like Samsung and Fossil, a Google-branded smartwatch has yet to appear. Although rumors about a Pixel Watch have circulated over the years, many details about Google’s reported plans for its own smartwatch are still unclear. Google filed a trademark application for the term „Pixel Watch“ on April 19, just weeks before Google I/O is set to kick off on May 11. The trademark would cover the following, according to the filing: „smartwatches; cases adapted for holding smartwatches; wearable computers in the nature of smartwatches; smartwatch straps; smartwatch bands.“ Google’s Pixel Watch will likely have a circular face with a minimalist look, similar to the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4.
