OnePlus is reportedly planning to drop the alert slider from its mid-range and budget smartphones. According to a tipster, the OnePlus Nord 2T was the last phone featuring an alert slider. Going forward, it is said to be available only on Pro models and a few Oppo flagships.
OnePlus started providing a physical alert slider on its smartphones since the launch of the OnePlus One. Located on the upper left edge of the phone, it allows the user to set sound profile of the phone as silent, vibrate, and ring without unlocking the screen. According to a tipster, this practice will change soon and the company will limit the popular alert slider to its flagship models.
