President Biden on Friday night denounced the hammer attack against House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband as “political violence” and linked the shocking crime to the Capitol riot.
Speaking at a fundraiser for the Pennsylvania Democratic Party, Biden alleged that Paul Pelosi’s attacker was using the “same chant” that rioters at the US Capitol used on Jan. 6, 2021.
“You know, it’s reported that the same chant was used by this guy they have in custody that was used on Jan. 6 in the attacks on the US Capitol,” the president told the Democratic donors in attendance.
“The chant was ‘Where’s Nancy? Where’s Nancy? Where’s Nancy?’ This is despicable,” Biden said.
The president then angrily suggested the attack was an act of political violence, blaming Republicans for inciting individuals who are mentally ill.
