Lewis died Friday at his Mississippi home at age 87.
Rock’ n’ roll superstar Jerry Lee Lewis died Friday at age 87, several outlets reported, days after TMZ published a false report about his death.
The “Great Balls Of Fire” singer’s death was confirmed by his publicist.
Lewis’ cause of death was not disclosed, but his wife Judith was at his side at his home in Desoto County, Mississippi, representative Zach Farnum said.
On Wednesday, TMZ falsely reported Lewis had died and later corrected its report, saying “were told by someone claiming to be Lewis‘ rep that he had passed. That turned out not to be the case.”
Lewis, who suffered a stroke in 2019, was included in the Country Music Hall of Fame last week, but posted on Instagram that he was “too ill with the flu” to attend the ceremony.
