The Alien sequel by director Fede Álvarez’s received a first-look photo that features a terrifying creature from the classic films.
In celebration of Alien Day, director Fede Álvarez treated fans to their first look at his Alien sequel.
Álvarez’s Alien movie is currently untitled and will be the ninth movie in the Alien franchise. Álvarez co-wrote the movie with Rodo Sayagues; previously, the two worked on the 2013 remake of Evil Dead, Don’t Breathe, Don’t Breathe 2, and the 2022 remake of Texas Chainsaw Massacre. The untitled Alien movie will star Cailee Spaeny, Isabela Merced, David Jonsson, Archie Renaux, Spike Fearn, and Aileen Wu and will be released on Hulu rather than in theaters. The movie is in the early stages of production, with principal photography beginning in Budapest on March 9, 2023.

While the movie is still in its early stages, it seems like Álvarez is already hard at work. On April 26, Álvarez posted a photo from the set of the untitled Alien movie on Twitter with the caption, “Happy #AlienDay everybody!” The photo features a clapperboard that said “Happy Alien Day” and was in the grasp of a facehugger.
