PGA Tour Makes Moves To Regain Player Trust; Tiger Woods Joins Policy Board

The PGA Tour has agreed on new transparency and governance measures with its players, giving them more input and approval for future decisions.
The PGA Tour and Commissioner, Jay Monahan are taking steps to restore trust and confidence with the players after the PGA Tour and LIV Golf merger a few months ago.
The PGA Tour, its player members, player directors and Player Advisory Council have agreed on new transparency and governance measures that give its six-player directors full transparency and authority to approve — or decline to approve — any potential changes to the tour as part of the existing framework agreement with Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF).
In other words, the Policy Board’s governing documents are being amended to make it clear no major decision can be made, at least in the future, without the prior involvement and approval of the Player Directors. That now includes Tiger Woods.
Woods has agreed to join the Tour’s Policy Board as a sixth Player Director, joining Patrick Cantlay, Charley Hoffman, Peter Malnati, Rory McIlroy and Webb Simpson.
