China “deeply sympathizes” with people in Gaza, China’s top diplomat Wang Yi told Palestinian Authority Foreign Minister Riyad al-Maliki in a phone call on Monday.
“What the people in Gaza need most is security, food and medicine, not war, weapons and ammunition; what Gaza needs is efforts to end the war and promote peace, not geopolitical calculations,” Wang told al-Maliki, according to a readout posted by China’s foreign ministry on Tuesday.
