Starfield, like practically every Bethesda game that came before it, is overflowing with collectible items for the player to discover and hoard. Many of these items have limited use, and mainly exist as set dressing. However, there is a subset of items that players will encounter that can greatly enhance their character. Starfield’s skill magazines are a perfect example of this.
Skill magazines in Starfield are a collectible that, when picked up, will permanently enhance a single (usually) stat. Like almost everything in the game, there is a huge selection of these magazines for players to discover. This guide will list each magazine type, and exactly where each issue can be found.
Currently, it appears that upgrades and buffs from skill magazines are not always the same for all players. It seems that some magazines have a small number of possible buffs that are assigned randomly at the beginning of each playthrough. Buffs can also change when beginning the NG+ cycle, meaning a buff seen in the first playthrough, could change completely when the same issue is found in subsequent playthroughs. There are two important notes to remember when using these lists: first, basically none of the buffs are guaranteed to appear with any specific issue. They have a tendency to change, as stated before. Second, anytime players see a POI without a planet or system listed, this means the issue can be found at all instances of that POI. Unique issues will always list the planet (or moon) and system.
