Bragg held a news conference on Thursday after Trump’s trial verdict was reached saying in part, „the jury has spoken.“
Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg held a news conference after a guilty verdict was reached in the trial of former President Donald Trump on Thursday, saying in part, „the jury has spoken.“
The former president faced trial in New York this month, accused of falsifying business records in an attempt to conceal hush money paid by his former lawyer Michael Cohen to adult film actress Stormy Daniels during the 2016 presidential campaign. Trump, the presumptive Republican nominee in the November presidential election, denies that he had sexual encounters with Daniels and pled not guilty to all 34 felony counts in the case brought by Bragg. On Thursday afternoon, a jury of 12 found Trump guilty on all counts.
In his news conference, Bragg said, „First and foremost, I want to thank the jury for its service. Jurors perform a fundamental civic duty. Their service is literally the cornerstone of our judicial system.
