In the city of lights, glitz and glamour, the Sun couldn’t rise up to crack the Aces Friday night in Las Vegas. League-leadings scorer and rebounder A’ja Wilson scored 26 points and added 16 rebounds to lead the 2-time defending WNBA champions Aces to a 85-74 win as -5.5 point favorites.
Connecticut (14-2) lost for just the second time this season but remain on top in the East battling the New York Liberty (13-3). Las Vegas (8-6) won their second-straight over a team ahead of them in the standings, but remain behind the West-leading Minnesota Lynx (12-3) and Seattle Storm (9-6), who the Aces beat Thursday.
The Aces are now 5-4 at home this season after going 19-1 at home last year on their way to a 34-6 regular season finish.
