Inside Out 2 is on its way to becoming the second-biggest Disney-Pixar opening ever behind Incredibles 2.
Per Deadline, if Inside Out 2 finishes the weekend at the higher end of the box office estimate, it will mark the second-highest opening for an animated film ever at the domestic box office behind Incredibles 2. To date, the animated blockbuster The Super Mario Bros. holds that slot with a $146.3 million opening in North American theaters in 2023.
Per Box Office Mojo, Inside Out also earned $501.9 million in international ticket sales for a worldwide tally of $858.8 million against a $175 million budget.
Inside Out 2 reintroduces audiences to Riley (voice of Kensington Tallman), whose story in 2015 was told from the point of view of five emotions in her brain, also known as her Headquarters.
