King Charles has responded to the news that Princess Kate will attend his birthday celebrations on Saturday amid cancer treatment.
King Charles III is overjoyed that Princess Kate will join the royal family at the annual Trooping the Colour celebrations in London on Saturday, Buckingham Palace has said.
It will mark the princess‘ first official public appearance alongside the royal family since December and comes as she continues to receive treatment following a cancer diagnosis earlier this year.
In a statement to the BBC, the palace said that King Charles is „delighted that the princess is able to attend tomorrow’s events.“
Trooping the Colour is the largest ceremonial event in the royal calendar and takes place each June to mark the monarch’s official birthday.
Since her marriage to Prince William, Kate has attended regularly and has become a highly anticipated fixture on the balcony of Buckingham Palace. Speculation that she would attend this year’s event circulated in Britain this week, but Kensington Palace did not issue a confirmation until hours before the big day.
