Shelley Duvall—who died Thursday at age 75—discussed her work with Stanley Kubrick on The Shining in a 2001 interview and cleared up some rumors in the process.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, a spokesman for Duvall said the iconic actor died in her sleep of complications from diabetes at her home in Blanco, Texas.
Duvall is best remembered, however, for her legendary role of Wendy Torrance—the terrified wife of Jack Nicholson’s crazed writer, Jack Torrance—in Kubrick’s 1980 horror film classic. The Shining is a big-screen adaptation of Stephen King’s bestselling novel of the same name.
