A report claims that the iPhone 16 launch will not be delayed from its September timeline just because Apple Intelligence will not arrive on time
The iPhone 16 launch is expected to happen in September, with Apple slated to introduce four new models to the masses. The unveiling typically means these handsets will run iOS 18 out of the box. Unfortunately, running the company’s latest and greatest update does not mean that any of the four models will come running Apple Intelligence immediately, which can complicate the announcement. However, a new report states that the iPhone 16 launch will not be delayed just because the technology giant is running late bringing a slew of generative AI features to the table.Apple Intelligence was previously reported to come running on iOS 18.1
Instead of iOS 18, a previous report from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman mentioned that Apple Intelligence will roll out with the release of iOS 18.1, meaning that it will arrive sometime after the iPhone 16 launch. Now, in the latest edition of his ‘Power On’ newsletter, Gurman states that this delay will not affect the announcement in September. However, how long do customers have to wait to try out those generative AI features? Based on the latest report, Apple Intelligence may not be ready until October, which may disgruntle a ton of potential buyers.
