The Bears dealt Fields to the Steelers in March for a sixth-round pick that can become a fourth-rounder if the quarterback plays more than half the snaps for his new team.
To improve their trade compensation, the Bears need quarterback Justin Fields to play at least 51% of the Steelers’ snaps this season.
He’s getting closer by the week.
Steelers coach Mike Tomlin told reporters Tuesday that the team is planning on sticking with Fields for Week 3 against the Chargers.
