Adams, 64, who was indicated by a grand jury on Monday and is expected to face federal charges, has often called out Trump, 78, a native New Yorker, for his politics and alleged criminal activity.
In May, the Mayor said Rikers Island „will be ready“ for Trump in the unlikely event that the former president is sent to the infamous prison for his falsifying business records conviction.
While Adams has long been outspoken about his opinions of Trump, the former president has seemingly not said as much to the public about Adams.
In November 2023, Trump voiced his support for Adams and former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo as they confronted new lawsuits from women alleging sexual misconduct—one of the claims against Adams dates back decades.
Trump wrote on Truth Social that he hoped Adams, Cuomo, and „all of the others that got sued based on this ridiculous law where someone can be sued decades later, and with no proof, will fight it on being totally unfair and UNCONSTITUTIONAL.
