Rachel Zegler called the opportunity to play Snow White in Disney’s live-action remake of its animated classic “the honor of a lifetime,” despite criticisms she leveled against the original 1937 film that sparked relentless backlash against the young star.
Zegler, 23, discussed what it was like receiving the call about booking the role on Thursday’s episode of “Good Morning America.”
“It was the honor of a lifetime. I think every young person dreams about a phone call like that,” the “West Side Story” actress gushed. “This one is certainly extra special as a huge Disney fan.”
Zegler added, “To get to bring [Snow White] to life in such a unique way and such a special way, it’s just a beautiful opportunity, and I’m very honored.
