The Spark Slim could be TECNO’s and the industry’s thinnest smartphone, but despite this level of sleekness, it packs a large battery
Phone makers have gone back to the times when launching handsets that boasted insane levels of thinness was the norm. Samsung is expected to add the Galaxy S25 Edge to this list when it announces the new device in the month of May, and later in the year, Apple is expected to keep the cycle going with the iPhone 17 Air launch. Another player has entered this category, TECNO, and it aims to not only deliver what it proudly claims is the industry’s thinnest smartphone, but its latest SPARK Slim concept aims to provide a bigger battery, along with other impressive internals.SPARK Slim likely leverages silicon-carbon batteries, but TECNO has not announced any plans of putting this smartphone on the mass production line
The most obvious pitfall of launching a device with unworldly levels of thinness is that these ship with relatively small batteries, and as a direct consequence of this design change, these smartphones do not last for that long and have a tendency to overheat.
