Tom Cruise is no stranger being in high-profile relationships since rising to fame in the mid-1980s.
The “Top Gun” actor was previously married to Mimi Rogers from 1987 to 1990, Nicole Kidman from 1990 to 2001 and Katie Holmes from 2006 to 2012.
Cruise has also made headlines for relationships with other celebrities –– including Ana de Armas, Cher and Penélope Cruz, among others.

Cruise and Melissa Gilbert had a brief fling in the early 1980s when she was a teenager and starring in “Little House on the Prairie.”
Gilbert confirmed that they dated “when he first moved to Los Angeles” during a 2014 episode of “Watch What Happens Live.”
“I did not have sex with him,” she clarified at the time. “We made out, but honestly, there was no sex. He was a good kisser, but you know, he was like a struggling, starving actor and I was working. I actually bought him his first set of dishes.”
The “Risky Business” actor and the “Melrose Place” actress initially hit it off when they met at a movie audition in the 1980s.
Cruise and Locklear went on a dancing date at a club, but Locklear later admitted that he “didn’t quite cut it” during a panel at 90s Con in September 2024.
Locklear clarified that he was “really cute” and “very nice” to her, but she wasn’t thrilled when he did his famous splits move from “Risky Business.”
“You just kind of stand there and don’t know what to do. Do you dance around him? So, I was like, ‘I’ll just sit down and you can‘,” she said during a 2013 episode of “Chelsea Lately.”
While Cruise’s dance moves didn’t work on Locklear, they did work on his “Risky Business” on-screen and off-screen love interest, Rebecca De Mornay, whom he dated from 1982 until 1985.
“I thought he was very annoying when we first started,” she told Celebrity Page in 2018. “He was extremely annoying, but he came to grow on me, because we wound up together for two-and-a-half years after that film.”
De Mornay later reflected on the relationship in a 2024 interview with the Independent where she recalled being “so in love” with Cruise when the film premiered in 1983.
Before Patti Scialfa wed Bruce Springsteen in 1991, she had a brief romance with Tom Cruise in 1985.

Cruise had another famous fling with Cher in 1985. The “Believe” singer and the “Mission: Impossible” actor met at Madonna and Sean Penn’s star-studded wedding in August 1985, but they didn’t embrace their connection until an event at the White House two months later.
“He was so wonderful, and I was so crazy about him, and he was so different. He was a shy boy,” she told Oprah Winfrey in 2008.
Cher later confessed during a 2013 episode of “Watch What Happens Live” that he was one of her “top five” lovers of all time.
Cruise married Mimi Rogers in 1987 after meeting a year prior at a party.
