Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.) may be attempting some kind of attention-seeking filibuster (or whatever you want to call it) aimed at opposing Donald Trump at the moment — at least he was when I began writing this article just after 2 p.m. — but, as it turns out, all eyes are now on him for a much more serious reason.
On Monday night, one of Booker’s staff members was arrested by Capitol Police because he had a gun in his possession on Capitol grounds.

Capitol Police put out the following statement on the matter on Tuesday:
Yesterday afternoon, a Member of Congress led an ID’ed staff member around security screening at the Hart Senate Office Building. Later that evening, outside the Senate Galleries, the IDed staff member — who is a retired law enforcement officer — told our officers he was armed. The staff member, 59-year-old Kevin A. Batts of New Jersey, was arrested for Carrying a Pistol Without a License.
