Spider-Man 4, a Sony/Marvel collaboration, will hit theaters in July 2026, after Avengers: Doomsday. Tom Holland will return, Destin Daniel Cretton will direct.
Tom Holland has said he’s about ready to hang up his red-and-blue spandex after 2021’s mega-successful Spider-Man: No Way Home and pass the torch to a live-action Miles Morales. But he isn’t done quite yet: Sony and Marvel Studios confirmed at the 2025 CinemaCon that he’ll return in 2026 for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, directed by Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings’ Destin Daniel Cretton. The movie is scheduled for release on July 31, 2026, between the Russo brothers’ Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.
When all the No Way Home spoilers were out of the bag in early 2022, Holland made it very clear he saw the trilogy-capper as the end of… something. Maybe not his run as Spider-Man — the guy’s only 28! — but possibly the end of Sony and Marvel’s unlikely collaboration.
