The New Avengers are back in the comics, because synergy with the movies never died, it just got tweaked.
Now that we know why the Thunderbolts are really called that in the movie, history’s repeating in the comics. Say hello to your New Avengers.
The comic previously announced as New Thunderbolts, asterisk and all, is in actuality the newest iteration of the Avengers offshoot team founded in 2005. Written by Sam Humphries (Uncanny X-Force) and drawn by Ton Lima (West Coast Avengers), the ongoing series sees Bucky Barnes—now going by the Revolution, and the only member carried over from the film—assembling the “most dangerous loners and antiheroes” Marvel’s got right now: Black Widow, Wolverine (Laura Kinney), Eddie Brock as Carnage, the Hulk, Clea Strange, and Namor.
