A video of a home renovation mishap has gone viral on TikTok, as viewers watched a diamond floor painting project go slightly off plan.
The clip shared by Alexandra Aller (@byalexaller), one half of the real estate and design duo The Reno Gals, shows a woman painting what is meant to be a diamond pattern on a floor using blue tape as a stencil. The video has racked up more than 50 million views since it was shared on June 21.
The overlaid text reads: „She has no idea that she is doing this diamond floor design wrong.“
Instead of forming a continuous series of touching diamonds, the taped pattern leaves small gaps between each shape.
Aller, unfazed by the outcome, embraces the result. „The design was supposed to be diamonds that touch, but it ends up leaving a space that I think looks really nice and less rigid“, she told Newsweek.
