EA has announced the end of its online multiplayer shooter game Anthem. The game didn’t meet financial expectations.
Anthem, the online multiplayer shooter from BioWare and EA, is set to shut down early next year. The process of the game’s closure has already begun, but the game remains playable until mid-January.
EA announced the change on its blog on July 3. The post says, “After careful consideration, we will be sunsetting Anthem on January 12, 2026.”
The game has already been removed from digital storefronts, and it’ll be taken down from the EA Play library on August 15.
If you own the game already, you can no longer purchase in-game currency.
